Moore Moss Rutter
Friday 6 April
With Danny Pedler & Rosie Butler-Hall
A series of remarkable gigs has heightened the sense of anticipation around the reunion of Tom Moore, Archie Churchill-Moss and Jack Rutter in the trio that won them the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. Seven years on, having toured with some of the biggest and best acts in contemporary folk music, they now reconvene to release their third album together. Widely regarded as three of the best players of contemporary folk music among a precociously gifted generation, their finely-crafted arrangements wield a rare potency, featuring new compositions as well as ancient traditional music.
Supporting Moore Moss Rutter are Danny Pedler and Rosie Butler Hall, two young dynamic musicians who formed as a duo in late 2011. Danny plays Hurdy Gurdy and Accordian and Rosie plays five string Fiddle and sings. Their music is characterised by flowing melodies, intricate harmonies and strong rhythms while keeping the flavour of the traditional style.
